Overview - Most incidents and accidents on the ground are caused mainly, or even completely, by errors from ground handling personnel. This course covers the impact of the Human Factor and Human Error in ground handling and aircraft incidents and accidents. Proper management of Human Factors will improve safety and effectiveness in your ground operations. This course covers skills in communication and decision making, the error chain, and strategies to manage human error. Attendees will be provided with a generic human factors training programme and curriculum that can then be customised to your organization. A qualification certificate will be issued.

• Communicate the importance of human factors methods to frontline employees and management
• Deliver Human Factors training at the station

Evaluation - Participants will complete a written exam on the Human Factors training module, customise and present part of the course as instructors and be evaluated.

Additional information - Ground handling staff must be trained in Human Factors, and ground instructors and trainers must be able to demonstrate that they are qualified and competent to conduct Human Factors training. Successful completion of this course provides instructors with a qualification certificate to satisfy this requirement.
